What is the DTS?
The Discipleship Training School is your opportunity to experience what missions is like, learn how you can practice missions in your own life, and commit yourself to a deeper understanding of and relationship with Jesus.
Each year thousands of students from around the world jump into missions via the DTS at various YWAM locations. These students learn about themselves, their relationship with God, and how they can work with others. For many this is a season of growth and realignment as they look forward to a life spent with Jesus – serving Him locally and globally.
What about you?
At DTS you will…
Live and learn in a community setting where everyone is pursuing Jesus together.
Learn how to study and apply scripture in your own life and offer it to others through engaging bible study.
Be equipped to share the gospel through the word, your testimony, and your relationships.
Find out about ways that you can partner with YWAM to complete the great commission.
Deepen your personal practices of devotion and discipleship with Jesus.
Gather and challenge others to pursue a life of discipleship.
Choose a special focus!
An optional part of your DTS experience may include one or more of the special focuses listed below.
During the winter you may choose to add a snow sports focus to your lecture phase or take an extra focused step in the direction of compassion ministry geared to the cold. At other times of the year you may choose mountain biking, camping, hiking, and backpacking.
Other special focuses are less dependent on the seasons, such as writing or archery.
These focuses add to your DTS experience by opening another window into the worlds of ministry and missions. The outreach may lean into these focuses. Could you imagine snowboarding in the Himalayas or teaching a journaling class to college students in South-East Asia?
These are examples of just how creative a life of missions and ministry can be and are meant to spark your creativity as you pursue God.
