The application process consists of these steps:
- Fill out the online application form
- Pay the $35 non-refundable application fee
- Ask three people to fill out our online reference form
- Pay the $100 non-refundable acceptance fee
After finishing the first three steps, your application is complete and will be processed by our team. We aim to let you know within three days after receiving all the information whether or not you have been accepted to the DTS.
After being accepted, you will receive an electronic welcome package from us (or a printed packet by mail if you live in America and request it). This welcome package will include some information about your staff, a list of things to bring/remember, and other helpful information to help you on your way as you get ready for the DTS.
After receiving the packet you will also need to send in the acceptance fee.
Step 1: Fill out the online application form.
We have tried to keep our application form as simple as possible. That said, there are still some things that are good to know before starting the application. One of them is that you will not be able to save your application once you have started to continue at a different time. Therefore we would like to give you an overview here of the kind of questions you will run into while filling out the form.
Page 1 – Personal information
The first page of our reference form is for you to fill out your personal information. Your name, address, birthday etc. We would also love for you to attach a picture of yourself at this point.
Page 2 – Reference information
On page two of our reference form, we ask you to fill out who your references will be. As all the questions on this page are obligated to be answered, this page can be quite a hick-up if you don’t know yet who your references will be. So let me tell you what information you’ll need to answer for the questions on this page.
The three references we are looking for to process your application are: 1. a pastoral reference (pastor or youth pastor), 2. a friend, accountability partner, mentor or small group leader, and 3. an employer, teacher or YWAM leader.
For each reference we ask you to fill out their name, phone number and e-mail address on the application form.

Other pages: Background questions
In the pages following the reference page we hope to get to know you better. We ask you several background questions to find out where you are coming from and what your hopes are for the future. Please make sure that you give yourself time to fill out these questions as honest and complete as you can. This will help us pray for you and process your application better. We do want to ask you not to lie about anything from your past nor concerning potential present struggles. In general, something that you have struggled with or are struggling with will not disqualify you from being able to take part in the DTS. If we find out later however that you specifically withheld information from us, we may at that point be obligated to disqualify you from the DTS.
Note: Our application form is processed by YWAM Idaho Boise-Cascade, so don’t be surprised if you get an e-mail from our YWAM Idaho registrar after finishing your application. This is normal and you have done nothing wrong.
Note: You will not get an automatic confirmation after filling out the application form. Instead, you will be e-mailed either by the YWAM Idaho Boise-Cascade registrar or by one of your future staff. This will generally happen within 48 hours of us receiving your application. If you don’t hear back from us within at least 36 hours, please don’t hesitate to contact us through the contact form to ask about whether or not we have received your application. It is of course possible that something went wrong, but we would hate for you to have to fill out the application form again if in fact we did receive it.
Step 2: Pay the $35 non-refundable application fee
Immediately after filling out all the questions on the application form, you will be transferred to a page where you will be asked to make a $35 payment for processing your application. At this moment we are only able to process payment through Paypal in this way, though if you can pay through Paypal at this time than that is the easiest way to pay the application fee.
You can however pay your application fee at a different time and in a different way as well. Please take a look at our FAQ for some general information on other ways to pay the fee or wait for us to contact you after filling out the application. Whether or not you pay the application fee, your application will be forwarded to us once you have filled out all the questions. If you haven’t payed the fee yet at this time, we will contact you soon afterwards with specific information on how to pay this fee.
Step 3: Ask three people to fill out our online reference form
At the end of our online application you will find the link to our online reference form. In addition, we will also sent you this link in our e-mail confirming that we received your application. Do note that you will be responsible for getting this link to your references and that we won’t be able to process your application until we have received all three of your reference forms.
Once we have received all three references, we will let you know. Also, if we notice that one or more of your references take a long time to get to us, we will contact you so that you have the chance to contact your reference or ask someone else to fill out your reference form instead.
Step 4: After receiving your acceptance packet the next check to be sent will be your acceptance fee of $100. This is a non-refundable cost, though, it also counts towards your school costs. After we get the check you are officially accepted as a student!
